What types of plastic are suitable for recycling?

The recycling process involves recycling plastic products for their further use. This approach allows us to solve two problems:

Not all types of plastic are suitable for recycling, but only those that are labeled accordingly. It was adopted thirty years ago and looks like this:

1. PET or PET. Such products consist of polyethylene terephthalate. It is a raw material for the manufacture of most types of food packaging, in particular, plastic bottles.
2. HDPE This is a high density polyethylene. From it make more rigid container and plastic ware. Suitable for food storage.
3. LDPE - polyethylene low density. Raw materials for the manufacture of garbage bags, bags, flexible containers, cling film.
4. PVC or polyvinyl chloride. Raw materials for the production of most types of containers that do not come into contact with food.
5. PS - polystyrene. Raw materials for the manufacture of insulation, stationery, disposable tableware. Safe but combustible material.
6. PP - polypropylene. Used for the manufacture of food packaging, toys, auto parts.
7. O - other or other. This type of labeling is applied to those products that do not fit the above described groups. In most cases we are talking about solid polycarbonates, which act as raw materials for the manufacture of compact discs, goggles, lenses and light guide elements used in the construction industry.

How is plastic recycled?

Since plastic releases toxic substances during burning, burning PVC products is prohibited. As mentioned above, recycling plastic means recycling it. The procedure involves several steps:

1. Raw materials are collected and transported to the place of disposal.
2. Wastes are sorted.
3. Next, the raw material is sent to the crusher.
4. Crushed plastic is used to obtain secondary product.
